Longer-distance and South Island hires are assessed case by case based on duration, rider experience, timing, route, ferry travel, bike availability and hire conditions.
The Triumph Scrambler 400 XC is Rideworks’ lighter self-guided hire option for experienced riders seeking shorter scenic sealed-road rides from East Auckland, rather than longer-distance touring.
The Scrambler is offered for self-guided sealed-road riding, subject to rider approval, availability and Rideworks hire conditions.
Traveller Gear Support is available with approved Rideworks motorcycle hires, subject to size and availability. Options include helmets, riding jackets, riding pants, wet-weather gear and boots. Gloves are supplied new for purchase rather than rented.
For hygiene and safety reasons, gloves are sold new rather than rented.
Rideworks is for experienced motorcycle riders aged 30 or over who hold a current full motorcycle licence, have suitable recent experience and are comfortable riding motorcycles of similar size, weight and power.
Rideworks vehicle insurance is included with each hire, subject to the insurer’s terms, limits and exclusions. The standard excess is NZ$2,000 per separate incident or claim. A NZ$2,500 credit-card security pre-authorisation is required before the motorcycle is released.
