Terms and conditions

Effective date: 27 July 2026

These Website Terms and Conditions apply to your use of the Rideworks website.

By using this website or submitting a form through it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

1. About Rideworks

This website is operated by Rideworks Limited, trading as Rideworks.

Rideworks operates a motorcycle hire business from Auckland, New Zealand.

2. Purpose of the website

The website provides general information about:

  • Rideworks.
  • Available motorcycles.
  • Indicative pricing and inclusions.
  • Traveller Gear Support.
  • Rider eligibility.
  • The Rideworks enquiry and approval process.
  • Ride ideas and destination information.
  • How to request availability.

Website content is not:

  • A confirmed booking.
  • A Motorcycle Rental Agreement.
  • An insurance policy.
  • Professional riding instruction.
  • A guarantee that a motorcycle, item of gear, route or date is available.
  • A representation that any road, destination or route will remain suitable or accessible.

Every actual hire is governed by the confirmed booking details, the signed Motorcycle Rental Agreement and applicable insurance conditions.

3. Availability requests are not bookings

Submitting a Check Availability form, sending an email or otherwise contacting Rideworks:

  • Is a request for information or availability only.
  • Does not reserve a motorcycle.
  • Does not create a confirmed booking.
  • Does not guarantee approval, price, dates, gear or availability.
  • Does not require Rideworks to accept the proposed hire.

A booking is confirmed only when Rideworks confirms it in writing and all required booking conditions have been completed.

Those conditions may include:

  • Rider approval.
  • Licence and identity verification.
  • Acceptance of insurance and excess conditions.
  • Payment of the required deposit and rental charges.
  • Bond or excess authorisation.
  • Completion of the Motorcycle Rental Agreement.
  • Completion of any other reasonable safety, insurer or compliance requirement.

4. Rider eligibility

Rideworks is intended for experienced motorcycle riders.

Each rider must:

  • Be at least 30 years old.
  • Hold a current and valid full motorcycle licence.
  • Be legally entitled to ride the selected motorcycle in New Zealand.
  • Have suitable recent experience riding motorcycles of comparable size, weight and power.
  • Provide accurate and complete information.
  • Provide any licence, identity or eligibility documents reasonably required.
  • Meet Rideworks’ safety, suitability and insurer requirements.

International riders may be required to provide an International Driving Permit or an approved English translation of their licence.

Rideworks may decline an enquiry, refuse a booking or refuse to release a motorcycle where:

  • The rider does not meet the eligibility requirements.
  • Information cannot be satisfactorily verified.
  • Required payment or authorisation has not been completed.
  • Insurance conditions have not been met.
  • Rideworks reasonably considers the proposed hire unsafe or unsuitable.
  • The motorcycle is unavailable because of damage, maintenance, a previous late return or another operational reason.

5. Permitted road use

Rideworks motorcycles are offered for lawful private, self-guided road riding.

Motorcycles may be ridden only on sealed public roads.

The following uses are prohibited:

  • Unsealed or gravel roads.
  • Off-road riding.
  • Beaches and riverbeds.
  • Farm, forestry, private, closed or unformed roads.
  • Tracks, trails and adventure routes that are not sealed public roads.
  • Racing, pace-making, speed testing, competitions, track days or motorsport.
  • Rider training, instruction or licence testing.
  • Courier work, delivery work, rideshare or commercial carriage.
  • Any unlawful, reckless, dangerous or unauthorised use.

The complete permitted-use and prohibited-use conditions are contained in the Motorcycle Rental Agreement.

6. Prices and GST

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

  • Prices displayed on the website are in New Zealand dollars.
  • Prices include GST.
  • Prices are subject to availability and booking confirmation.
  • Deposits, bonds and excess authorisations are not included in the rental price unless expressly stated.
  • Optional gear, delivery, support or other services may carry additional charges.

Website prices, minimum hire periods, inclusions, discounts, motorcycles and optional services may change before a booking is confirmed.

A price change will not alter a booking that Rideworks has already confirmed in writing, except where the confirmed booking terms or applicable law permit it.

If a material pricing or description error is identified before confirmation, Rideworks may correct the error and allow you to proceed on the corrected basis or withdraw your request.

7. Motorcycles, accessories and images

We aim to ensure that website photographs and descriptions accurately represent the motorcycles and accessories offered.

Minor differences may occur because of:

  • Maintenance or repairs.
  • Replacement accessories.
  • Product updates.
  • Availability.
  • Safety or operational requirements.

No specific motorcycle, accessory or item is guaranteed until Rideworks confirms the booking.

Rideworks will not substitute the selected motorcycle with a materially different motorcycle without discussing the change with the customer.

8. Traveller Gear Support

Traveller Gear Support is subject to:

  • Advance request.
  • Size and fit.
  • Availability.
  • Condition.
  • Safety assessment.
  • Booking confirmation.

Specific brands or models shown on the website may be replaced with comparable premium gear where necessary because of availability, maintenance, cleaning, damage or fit.

Rideworks may refuse to supply an item where it does not fit appropriately or Rideworks reasonably considers it unsuitable or unsafe.

The customer must advise Rideworks promptly if supplied equipment does not fit correctly or appears damaged.

No protective equipment can eliminate the risks associated with motorcycle riding.

9. Ride ideas, maps and travel information

Any ride ideas, destinations, maps, route descriptions, videos, estimated travel times or third-party information are provided as general information only.

Road conditions, closures, weather, traffic, fuel availability, opening hours and access conditions can change without notice.

You remain responsible for:

  • Selecting and checking your route.
  • Remaining on sealed public roads.
  • Monitoring weather and road conditions.
  • Managing fatigue.
  • Complying with road rules.
  • Riding within your ability and the conditions.
  • Making safe riding decisions.

Rideworks does not provide guided tours or professional riding instruction unless expressly agreed in writing.

Unless stated otherwise, Rideworks or its licensors own the intellectual-property rights in the website and its content, including:

  • Branding.
  • Text.
  • Photographs and video.
  • Graphics.

  • Downloadable materials.

You may view and use the website for personal and non-commercial purposes.

You may not reproduce, modify, publish, sell, distribute or commercially exploit website material without prior written permission, except where permitted by law.

13. Third-party websites and services

The website may contain links to third-party websites, maps, videos, payment providers, booking services or other platforms.

Your use of a third-party service is subject to that provider’s own terms.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Rideworks is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising solely from:

  • Temporary website unavailability.
  • Reliance on general website information.

Nothing in these Website Terms:

  • Excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
  • Excludes applicable rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
  • Limits Rideworks’ obligations under the Fair Trading Act 1986.
  • Excludes liability for fraud, wilful misconduct or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

By providing personal information through the website, you acknowledge that it will be handled in accordance with that policy and applicable law.

Rideworks may update these Website Terms from time to time.

The version published on the website applies from its stated effective date.

A later change to these Website Terms will not retrospectively alter a booking already confirmed in writing unless:

  • The confirmed booking terms permit the change;
  • The customer agrees; or
  • The change is required by law, an insurer or a safety requirement.
